Myeloma UK, Our Charity for 2016

• Myeloma UK is the only UK cancer organisation dealing specifically with myeloma and its related disorders
• We fund research and support innovation, which will ultimately lead to safer and better treatment as well as to curative strategies in the longer term
• Our Clinical Trial Network aims to systematically and rapidly conduct a portfolio of prioritised clinical trials of new drugs in myeloma, meaning that patients will benefit sooner from the new effective treatment combinations
• We have a comprehensive range of services for patients, their families and carers, and healthcare professionals
• Our innovative Myeloma Nurse Learning Programme is the only one of its type in the world
• Over 750 haematology nurses receive our information to give to patients, families and carers
• We funded the first evidenced-based guidelines for the diagnosis , treatment and management of myeloma
• We campaign to ensure that every myeloma patient has access to and receives optimum treatment and care, regardless of their age, gender or postcode
• Our Myeloma Infoline takes over 400 calls every month
• There is a network of 50 Myeloma Support Groups across the country
